Capsule Geology

The Reo 1-12 West occurrence is located on a small hill or knoll, south of Troutline Creek and approximately and approximately 2.5 kilometres west-southwest of the creeks’ junction with Quartzrock Creek.

Regionally, the area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Mississippian to Permian Slide Mountain Complex.

Locally, narrow, steeply dipping, quartz veined zones, varying from 0.01 to 1.00 metre wide, with pyrite are hosted in carbonate-altered basalts which are situated above a basal thrust fault and argillite.

Work History

The area has been explored in conjunction with the Taurus (MINFILE 104P 012) occurrence and a complete exploration history can be found there.

In 1995, Cyprus Canada Inc. and Cusac Gold Mines Ltd. completed six diamond drill holes on the area as the Reo 1-12 claims. Drilling yielded up to 0.44 gram per tonne gold over 6.1 metres, including 1.02 grams per tonne gold over 1.0 metre in hole T95-12, and 0.41 gram per tonne gold over 20.2 metres in hole T95-16 (Assessment Report 24275).
